Factor 2 Dominates the Nepal Open in 2012

I am very excited to announce that I am the newest member of the Nova Pilots Team. I’m thrilled to be joining such a fantastic group of pilots and I really appreciate how welcome you’ve made me feel already.

After months of flying tandems here in Nepal spring finally came with great cross-country weather and the Nepal Open. An unheard of 250 people were registered for the competition, about 50 of them in the open class and the remainder in the sport class. It was a very crowded gaggle at the start. Two tasks were set each day, one for the open and one slightly shorter for the sport class. Claudio Mota shook up the open class on the practice day by winning the task on his Factor 2. Everyone was amazed to see a DHV 2 arrive before an R10 and I started to look at my Factor 2 a bit differently. Claudio proved that I had a great tool in my hands now it was up to me to learn to use it.

After 3 great task days Claudio Mota took first place overall and I landed my first podium taking first place in the Sport Class and first overall woman. It was a super fun comp as usual with a great group of people. Next up…The Russian Open.

Hope the weather is nice wherever you are,

Jessica Love
