Today I want to present you a very small spot were you can fly all over the year and find some thermals, Nimis. It is situated some kilometres east of Gemona, or in other words, go to Villach, than through the Val Canale and than turn left (to Meduno you have to go right ). Nimis is surrounded by whineyards, but there is enough grassland to land. The startingplace is on a 500m high cliff from which you can see the Adriatic Sea and after thermaling a while, the Alps! Even it was my first thermal flight (4m rising and strong westwind) after 4 month and my 14. at all with the Triton I feel comfortable with the wing and I am really looking foward to the next xc- season, and the performancetraining…. After landing we were invited by the lokal paragliding club (fpc) for real italian Pasta. I come now for three years to Nimis in winter to do some training, and I really enjoy it because of the warm-hearted Italians, the beautiful sight and the very small white and yellow flowers on the landingplace…
